SCOTT HILLEBOE is a Managing Director of Steamboat Ventures. Scott brings over 15 years of experience in operations, venture capital investing, business development and strategic planning in the entertainment & media, consumer, software and semiconductor technology sectors.
Scott's current investments include EdgeCast Networks, Elemental Technologies, Kyte, MediaBank, and MerchantCircle. Scott's prior investments include Quigo (acquired by AOL), Fastclick (acquired by ValueClick), and PopularMedia (acquired by StrongMail). He is also actively involved with Move Networks, Passenger, Sometrics , and Razorgator.
Prior to joining Steamboat Ventures, Scott was an investment professional with Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. He was responsible for sourcing and evaluating early stage technology investments and assisting the fund's portfolio companies. While at Hummer Winblad, Scott participated in the firm's funding of Jareva Technologies (acquired by VERITAS), Yosemite Technologies (acquired by Barracuda Networks), Cenzic, Knowmadic, and Voltage Security.
Throughout his career, Scott has worked at industry leading enterprises such as IBM, LaSalle Partners and Synopsys, as well as a number of early stage technology companies.
Scott received a BS in Mechanical Engineering, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Washington, and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
